Hey guys, its been a long time, i hope you are all well. I've been out of the game for almost 3 years now due to a badly broken wrist/hand, which has left me in pain for a long time. My real issue is that when i broke my right hand, the wrist joint became infected and eat away all of the cartilage surrounding my wrist joint. My problem now is that i have no backward flexion (forgive my no doubt improper terminology). I can bend it forward fairly well, but have zero movement backwards.

Last week i played 18 holes of golf for the first time since my injury, and after my 20 minute warm up on the range, was not expecting much. To be honest i was just so pleased to be out on the links again with my friends, and in the sunshine, enjoying the banter and all the other things that we love about golf (3-putting, shanking, being held up by numpties in front, lol, only kidding!). My round went surprisingly well as i would have (despite playing off 5 when i stopped) been happy to shoot under 100, but ended up carding a 91 and being really pleased with some of the shots i played. My long game was good, but short game...terrible!!! (to be expected i spose...)

Prior to this round, i've spent the last few weeks trying to figure out a way of swinging the club, without the need to bend my right wrist. I basically just held/supported the club in between my thumb and forefinger at the top. Now i know this seems strange, but it is possible, and in many ways, im sure, actually helped, as i used to have a tendency to get a little to active with my right hand. Anyway, my question to all you experts out there is this: can i play golf at a decent level again, even though i cant hinge my right wrist back? And is this really as detrimental to me as i once feared?

Like i said, i did hit some cracking shots (although lost about 1 clubs distance on each club, and driver only goes about 230/40 atm), but i dont know if i'll ever be able to do it consistently with my injury.

Any thoughts on this would be gratefully received.
