I remember someone else mentioning it but is there a picture of Chuck's weight distribution during the swing from a footpressure forceplate perspective?   I find your work on biomechanics fasinating.  However the other biomechanic instructors I visited who use force plates or sites I have read do not have the weight going straight to the left heel on the downswing but rather to the center of the foot before hitting the heel at impact.  Tigers has his weight going to the front of his foot during the transition before hitting the heel.   Harrington is now working on keeping his weight centered before going to the heel.   I have also seen different views on just how far back on the heel the weight should go on the backswing to enable proper use of the hip.  Thanks

I believe there is footage of this in the Weight Shift Part 1 video. Long story short, yes, the weight does go to the ball of the foot slightly first during the transition because the fact that this initial shift is happening while the hips are still closed. At impact it is not fully on the heel and that's not what I'm advocating. Rather, it needs to be driven primarily through the center of the ankle joint. Of course, some weight will still be slightly ahead of that point for balance, and it should stay through the ankle into the finish, while the continued rotation will move the weight somewhat toward the heel as well. Hope this is more clear.

Chuck,
In that vien, where on the heel should the initial hip shift  land on the backswing?  Over the ankle or further back on the instep of the heel?  I find it easy to shift weight to the inside of the right ankle but a weight shift to the heel with 0 hip turn is difficult.
