Air,

May I suggest to you to do whatever works best!?

Different shots require different releases. A push release, for me, gives a lower flight whereas a more handsy release gives a higher flight. I don't like the idea of crossing over my arms but I don't mind a more slap-hinger approach. Practice the releases and get a good feel for which is more powerful and more accurate - most of all most consistent.

I never purely followed Rotary Swinger Fundamentals and I'm not going to purely follow Hitter Fundamentals. Do what works for you. No-one's perfect.

Dig!

I've consentrated on a push release (which was new for me). Now it seems that I might as well have been working on the crossover. Therefor all the fuss...

I'm no longer a Vault member so I can't tell you much!

I do believe it's always good to have a variance of releases tho. For me a push release is good for driver in the Summer when it can roll out but in Winter I'm sure a more slap-hinge or crossover release will get you better distance, generally just due to the more upward strike...

air, can I ask a question? Has Paul had you working on this release in your online lessons? Is that why you are wondering?

not really, but I'm going to mention it next time. I get confused when different solutions are at hand, when I thought that only one of them was the right one.

Let me ask you: Why do use a crossover release in your last video when you earlier said that the push release was the right one for a hitter.

air, your arms MUST crossover at some point, so it's very easy to get confused. My suggestion, work on the basic swing fundamentals and get into a sound impact position and let your hands do what they will for now. The fundamentals in the Vault are THE most important section of the site, the rest is just details. Until you have mastered the fundamentals, the release is not a priority.
