been in some of the best form of my career during the last week. so today i thought its a good time to video my swing and see where my improvements have come from. ive been hitting a draw on all my shots, with my only swing thoughts being to turn my chest hard through the ball. after looking at the video ive noticed i am very much 1plane in my backswing (flatter and laid off a bit) and in my weight transfer (no lateral movement) but through the ball im still all hands and timing reliant which is my main fault that im trying to eradicate. so my problem is im using a 1plane thought through the ball (chest turn) but still achieving a 2plane release.
i would like to fully become a 2planer 'BUT' when i try to incorporate 2plane moves and thoughts on the downswing i get even worse flipping of the hands through the ball and absolutely no body turn through impact!how can i fix this lack of body turn whilst working on my natural 2plane motion?
current handicap 2.4

Andrew,

Any chance you could post the video of your swing?

Keep in mind, what you perceive is not necessarily what is happening. When you say, you have a natural 2ps, you are describing your feeling, right? However, when you look at the video, it tells a different story according to what you have described (1p backswing and rotating with chest with virtually no lateral movement).

To me, your problem sounds like a common 1ps fault. Take a look in the members vault and look at what causes the misses left.

It sounds as if you are trying to correct a problem with your hands by using your hands more. . .when you could correct the problem with your hands by just letting them come along for the ride (using them less). . .and just make sure you keep turning.

Just a thought. . .but if I were you, I would focus on using your hands less (for me, a weaker grip allows me to take my hands out of the swing easier).
