Is it okay in the Two-Plane Swing to take the clubhead outside instead of taking it straight back during the takeaway?

Thanks

I am a 16 handicap, so take my comments for what you pay for them.  Taking the club back outside the target line will cause a host of problems you don't want:  e.g., you end up too steep in your backswing, you don't get turned properly on the backswing, or your aim shifts to the left of the target and you have to loop the club back inside to get to an in-square-in plane, to name a few.  I don't think that the club head goes straight back either.   All golf swings swing on an arc--there are no straight lines in a golf swing, TPS or OPS.  IMO, the club should come back inside the target line immediately, even in a TPS, so that when the club is about waist high it is parallel with the target line with the toe up.  The difference between the OPS and the TPS on this account is the depth of the arc.  The OPS is much deeper than the TPS, but they are both swinging the club on an arc.
