Chuck,

Had a video lesson yesterday (everyone should see their swing and the angles) and oh boy. I thought I was hitting it pretty well and scoring decently... 72-78. The video showed the shaft way under the setup plane on the takeaway and way under that plane on the downswing. I was told I play by hand/eye coordination  to square the club at impact,  and all the timing issues that entails.

I wasn't even close to your hand/shaft positions (on or above setup plane) as seen in the side by side. Now I have to swing feeling like a two planer in order to be a one planer.

Mike, it looks like you've got some great skills if you are playing to a 1.8! That's great, now that you've seen your swing you can make some good adjustments and be well on your way. You will likely feel very upright when starting the corrections but that is normal. It's ok if you take it back a little shallower and beneath the plane as long as it gets corrected at some point, such as halfway back. Many professionals do this and get it on plane at 9 o'clock.

Thanks Chuck. You're right, it does feel very upright. But looking at your pics makes it proof positive that I was 'fighting' my swing quite a bit and didn't know it.
