I seem to recall from somewhere that the right elbow should not be visiable at the top of the backswing when viewed from face on.  I am struggling with the move where the right arm flexes and rotates.  This rotation makes my right elbow drop a little below my left arm.  Am I not elevatiing the right shoulder enough, or do I need more tilt, or neither.

I don't remember that about the right elbow in the face on video.

However, have you tried the right arm drill?:

http://www.oneplanegolfswing.com/golf-instruction/video/index.php?&cat=Full%20Swing&subcat=Rotary%20Swing%20Tour%20Drills%20/%20Exercises&video=128&id=175&name=Right%20Arm%20Drill

You can compare the position you get on top with the right arm drill, and in your normal swing.

jimca,

I made the statement in the Steve Stricker analysis about his right elbow was visible from the face on angle when he is at the 9:00 position.  This quite commonly occurs because the golfer started his swing with a push from the left side.

Al,
So does it not matter is the right elbow pokes out a little at the top?

From all my video study, you should not, but your camera angle may be affecting your view.  I would need to see a video to gain a full understanding of the issue.

Al,
Can you see the right elbow tucked under from this image?  Is this because i'm over rotating the right arm?

Al

It doesn't appear, to me, that jimca has rotated anywhere near 90*...could that have something to do with the issue?

jimca,

couple of things I notice right away.  1.  you have to narrow the stance, as you have been forced to make a big shift to the right.  2.  mship is right on as you have not turned your shoulders with the right shoulder blade glide.  My assumption is you have pushed from the left with the arms.  Work on the rotation and setup drills.

jimca

the master rotation drill with arms extended and hands 1 inch apart is awesome for this.
