Chuck & Al,
First, the videos, instructions and concepts are exceptional. Working with my 12 year old son he has played competitive since he was 5. I have worked for 2 years on his set up as he wanted to shrug the front shoulder up - head nearly in front of the ball - no axis tilt. Just could not make him understand. Showed him RST overview video where you took club with left hand first and so on. Unbelievable - first time he tried it - picture perfect. Oh well enough praise. His problem - fast hips with very little hip bump - I believe he is in good position at the top - the hips simply unwind - appears that right heel releases early - comes under with reverse C at impact - most of the time positive to flat angle of attack at best on irons - the other thing must be youth - looks like it would hurt to me but the front leg excessively increases distance from the rear leg on the downswing and front knee actually gets out in front of the hip and stays there until very late in the swing - by the time the leg posts up the swing is over. Sorry for the long description as I don't know how to post a video yet I have been working on hip bump and driving the left heel in the ground but success has been moderate. Do you have any other suggestions for this problem or could you refer me to a specific video to review. I have watched them all. Thanks and keep up the great work Jimmy

jimmy,
if he is getting outside of neutral joint alignment as you describe, he he pushing off his right side. He needs to pacify the right side and get to left side by using the left hip muscles to pull himself over. Also, watch the right arm only drill, as when he tries to hit ball with only the right arm, if he pushes off his right foot, solid contact will elude him...lots of tops. Always good to hear of the younger generation RST ![]() |

Thanks for the reply - I will revisit the right arm only drill and keep a check on the pushing with the right foot
