Don't have time this morning to find a picture...but, take a hula hoop, get in posture, go to the top of the backswing gripping the hoop and do Chuck's "pull-down drill" from top of backswing to in front of the thigh while keeping the hoop in the same plane.  It's some visual reinforcement while performing the drill.  I've found it to be useful.

Robert

I asked CQ a similar question about RS1 lag drills earlier in this post, see Chucks reply below;
Hope this helps.

CQ

"Would working on the"PENETRATING BALL FLIGHT DRILL" in phase 3 and "INCREASE YOUR LAG DRILL" in phase 5 of RS1 give me similar results?
Looks like a lot of good info. using the impact bag."

"renoaz, you can couple those two drills, the new one is more specifically the exact "HOW" of how to do it."
keep 'em where the mowers go

Chuck,

I presume this 'Creating lag' video' is meant for the RST group.
Are there any pitfalls in creating lag for the RS1 group (Oneplanenrs) ?

Robert.

I struggle with a flip for a long time and this thought of dropping the right arm down is helping me get better compression. But one big caveat!!!
You better keep the shoulders close coming down as he said, if those shoulders spin out, your hands go left too soon a and you get a face pointing straight and a path way left (out to in )
You wind up with a dead square face, ball contact in the center, but a shot that goes out to the right.

Very athletic swing.  Good-looking move.

Have you tried the right-hand-only swing?  It's a mind-blower for a while.  But, it gets to be fun after a couple of weeks.  The other drill I've been doing in conjunction with this is using my daughters old hula-hoop to engrain pulling down and getting the hands out in front.   Sounds silly enough.  But, I'm finding it to be helpful.

Regards.

I use the pump drill alot when I am feeling early release to ingrain lag. Also, I like to feel like the butt end(handle) of the club is pointing down at the ball and through to the target line before impact. With irons, these drills have me hitting ball first crisp irons. With driver however these drills can cause me to hit fades.
Hope this makes sense.
