Even with a core driven swing, you need arm and hand speed as the arms drop down into impact.  Your core can never, never turn at 110mph.  You still need arm and hand speed, not matter what type of swing you have.  Passive doesn't mean slow.  Think about.  You can have Sergio Garcia lag and still unc*ck your wrists slowly and not generate good CHS.  Sergio has great lag and fast arms and hands.  Even Chuck has stated that the term "Passive Arms" is greatly misconstrued.

My apologies, because I am old and cannot remember where I recently saw it, but there was a post on another forum about the biomechanics of the golfswing that offered up the identical data that I also saw of Tiger's swing.  It was a graph depicting the speed of the hips, arms and clubhead throughout the swing.  Both graphs showed during the downswing how the hips had an initial firing of speed, and slowed while the arms speeded up.  Then, coming into impact, the arms slowed to release the club and the hips had a second firing and increase in speed.  Fascinating stuff.  The arms gained speed while the core slowed and the hands/clubhead gained speed while the arms slowed.  Pretty cool.

Right On !  Passive doesn't mean they aren't used . Show me some good player that doesn't use their arms & hands . They just aren't the main driving force .

That's more like it.  Measured some swings today and most were 113-114.  That's more like it.  Last week couldn't top 108.  Did a lot of work this week on  getting the club on plane and improving my lag in addition to a few chain workouts.

Make that 115.  Hit 116-118 with the overspeed driver.  The overspeed work will translate to an increase in CHS.  Like the Jefferson's.......movin' on up.

Got a little frisky yesterday after two easy pars to open the round.  The 3rd hole is a cute little 300 yard par-4 with water all down the rightside and then the green is behind the water and a beautiful stone wall.  Approx. 285+ to carry the stone wall.  I get tired of always hitting 6-iron and wedge.  Boring!  I'm feeling good and going for it today.  Bad idea.  I hit the stone wall and splash.  I gave it a rip-roaring go though.  Need to get a little smarter and use an older ball next time.

Another week of chains needed.

 OK.........update since starting the speed-chain workouts .

I purchased the X-Strong version & have been doing the work-out every other day . 4 sets . Ten seconds as hard as I can go then rest 60 seconds & on to the next set .

Normal swing now with Driver is an easy 20 yards more carry .  That's in just a few weeks .

  HHHHHHmmmmmmmmmmm.....................
